Finnish metal band – CHILDREN OF BODOM – has announced a one-night only concert on
17th November 2011 at Fort Canning – Fort Gate, Singapore.
With an enthralling mix of modern heavy metal and melodic hooks, CHILDREN OF BODOM (or COB)
have proven themselves to critical acclaim as one of the most revered hard rock acts in the world and one
of the leading voices of metal’s new generation. Their latest album “Relentless Reckless Forever”, sold over
10,000 copies on its day of release and certified gold in Finland. In its first week of release, it landed at
#41 on the Billboard Top 200. In the time since its formation 18 years ago, CHILDREN OF BODOM
has recorded and released six full length studio albums which has all achieved gold certification. With
each subsequent album, the band has honed and perfected its unique sound and today stand tall in metal’s
pantheon.
Alexi Laiho, the quintet’s vocalist and guitar extraordinaire, has been named “Best Metal Guitarist” by the
readers of Guitar World, besting well known players such as Kirk Hammett of Metallica to win the
coveted award. There is little wonder when one hears the high energy hooks, melodic anthems and the
technically aggressive style of Laiho, that he truly deserves the accolades and recognition together with
his band. You may also recognise COB’s popular songs “Was It Worth It?”, “Living Dead Beat”,
“Blooddrunk” and “If You Want Peace…Prepare for War” as they are currently featured in the smash
hit music video game series Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Their parody cover of Britney Spears
“Oops!..I Did It Again” caused a stir in the metal world.
In addition to Laiho, CHILDREN OF BODOM features Roope Latvala (guitar), Jaska Raatikainen (drums),
Henkka Seppälä (bass) and Janne Warman (keyboards). It is not mere precision, but a metal-mad passion
that makes COB the standout band that it is today.
